Writing comments on another class member’s Outline and Answer is mandatory for all members of the class. It will not be graded and I will not provide individualized comments, but I will read through the comments, and give the class some overall feedback on them.
As is the case with writing and submitting an outline and answer, the entire commenting process will be done anonymously, with one exception. In case of failure to submit the required materials by the deadlines, or significantly failing to observe the requirements set out below, I reserve the right to determine the identity of the person(s) failing to do so, and impose appropriate penalties. Please carefully review the requirements set out below.
Preparing to Write Comments.
Review the following so that it is fresh in your mind:
The Exam Writing Advice that you read in preparing to write your own outline and answer
The comments and Model Answer I provided class members.
Carefully read the outline and answer you have been provided.
Comment separately on:
The outline
The answer
Any significant failure to follow the technical instructions (on naming the word or pdf document, including a page break between the outline and answer, etc.).
Writing Your Comments.
Write your comments on the outline.
Write your comments on the answer. You may, if you think it is useful, include any thoughts you have on the relationship between the outline and the comments.
Format and Substance: There is no prescribed format. As for the substance, you may want to comment in terms of (a) the strengths and weaknesses of the analysis of the issues, (b) organization, and (c) the clarity of the writing.
Length: There is no prescribed length for your comments, but they should be at least two pages, in total (i.e., on outline and answer), double-spaced.
Do not identify yourself in your comments either by your AGN or your name.
Be professional and substantive. Write comments that reflect your best efforts to be constructive in terms of commenting on the strengths and weaknesses of the outline and answer.
